BISHOPS’ COMMITTEE FOR MARRIAGE AND FAMILY LIFE
The Committee for Marriage and Family Life develops informed reflection on issues concerning marriage and the family; advises on and responds to public policy issues concerning marriage and family life within the Church, ecumenical, state and interreligious areas; fosters a collaborative approach to marriage and family life work within the Bishops' Conference and promotes pastoral care of marriage and family life across the dioceses. The Committee meets four times a year and is served by the staff of the Project Office. Committee members are selected for their personal qualities and experience rather than as representatives of any organisation with which they may be associated.Bishop Peter Doyle, Chair of the Bishops' Committee for Marriage and Family Life, meets annually with representatives of lay organisations working in support of marriage and family life.
